CLONMEL GOLF CLUB
Club Open 4Ball is won with 50 Points!
The Club fitted an Open 4Ball into their calendar on Saturday and Sunday to give players from clubs involved in the Jimmy Bruen GUI competition the opportunity to come and get a bit of familiarisation with the course in advance of their match but very few took the opportunity.
There was an entry of 36 pairs, most of them on Saturday, and, in windy and cool conditions the best pair were Simon Kane (16) & Thomas Blanche (17) with an incredible 50 points. The pair were in good scoring form on the front nine with 23 points but completed the back nine in an amazing 1 under par for a further 27 points. In second place with 47 points were Emmet Corcoran (18) & James Geraghty (12) with 47 points and third were Paddy Ryan (10) & Joe O’Shea (20) with 46, won on the back nine.
The Paddy Murray & Donoghmore Cups Match-Play Championships.
The Club match-play championships, the Donoghmore Cup (singles), and the Paddy Murray Cup (fourball), are now up and running and while the Donoghmore Cup is in its very early stages the Paddy Murray Cup is already behind schedule and competitors are reminded to play on time to avoid having to toss a coin for matches which is not the way matches should be decided, so please lads, make the arrangements and play your matches!
