Paddy Murray Matchplay Qualifier
Again, the weather played its part as the ‘bad guy’ and as a consequence the Paddy Murray qualifying competition was reduced to 15 holes due to the underfoot conditions. The course had been drying out nicely until after midweek but then we were back to the rain and the muck. However, it didn’t deter the members who came out in force and who are always anxious to try to qualify for the Club 4Ball Matchplay competition called the Paddy Murray Cup in memory of the former Secretary who is still remembered with fondness to this day. With only eight pairs to qualify for the matchplay the competition was hectic right up until the last 4ball went out on Sunday afternoon and there were anxious eyes waiting to see who the best eight pairs were. The leading pair were the Cooney brothers, Liam and Eoin, off of 14 and 21 respectively, who had a great score of 39 points for the 15 holes and will be very hard to beat in match play given their handicaps and their form. So, when the dust settled the following were the match play pairs:

Peter Foran & Tom O’Neill Vs Donncha Doyle & Conal Murphy

The Rules are posted on the Notice Board and the Draw is:
The quarter-finals shall be completed on or before Sunday May 6th.
The semi-finals shall be played on or before Sunday June 3rd
The Final shall be played on or before Sunday June 17th

Membership Renewals
Members subscriptions were due by 28th February. Subscriptions can be paid upfront, by standing order payments or directly to our bank account as listed on the invoices. Please contact the office for standing order forms or for any other enquiries in relation to membership renewals. Also, note that the Golfer’s Insurance is now €25 and not €27 as per your invoice. Early payment of subscriptions would be much appreciated.
